จำแนก Competencies ออกเป็น 2 มิติ คือ ชุดทักษะ/ความรู้เชิงลึก (Vertical Skills) ซึ่งเป็นชุดทักษะ/ความรู้ ที่จำเป็นสำหรับการทำงานและการเติบโตของตำแหน่งงานและสายงานนั้น ๆ และ ชุดทักษะ/ความรู้เชิงกว้าง (Horizontal Skills)ซึ่งเป็นชุดทักษะความรู้ที่จำเป็นสำหรับการทำงานร่วมกับหน่วยงานอื่นอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ และสามารถทำงานแทนกันได้ในเวลาที่จำเป็น
KEEN T-Shape Competency Development ได้ทำการออกแบบระบบที่ครอบคลุมทั้งเชิงลึก และเชิงกว้างเนื่องจากปัจจุบันการทำงานไม่ได้แบ่งฝ่ายอย่างสิ้นเชิง (Silo) แต่ส่วนใหญ่เป็นการทำงานเป็นระบบ Cross-Fuctional และระบบยังมี Competencies Dictionary ใน Database ที่หลากหลาย มีมาตรฐานพร้อมใช้งาน และยังแสดงผลชัดเจนเข้าใจง่ายเมื่อมีทักษะที่มีปัญหาเกิดขึ้น ทำให้สามารถพัฒนาพนักงานได้อย่างรวดเร็วและมีประสิทธิภาพมากกว่าที่เคย
